Reflections on Poland and France: Beth

Sacred Heart student, Beth Way Skinner, reflects on the lesson she learned while on this excursion:

It started with a "them" and an "us".

The survivors of the Holocaust all have very moving, similar stories. They have been through a lot of rough spots in their life, yet keep on going and have lots of hope for the future.

It wasn't only Europe. Some of the survivors were rejected by their home country, the rejected by Canada. This is just one quote from Jean Vanier: "We hide behind our insecurity and fear of diversity and become exclusive of the other." On this trip, I learned what I have to do now in order to take just a step on this long journey of inclusion of EVERYONE!
